Boston Scoliosis Brace

Cleaning Your Orthosis

The hard plastic outer shell and the inner soft foam liner SHOULD AND MUST BE CLEANED DAILY. A cloth with soap and water can be used to clean the lining followed by a damp rinsing cloth. A terry towel can help to dry the foam liner. Pat it dry; do not rub it or else the towel will scratch the skin on the foam. If nothing is used, it will dry on its own in 20 to 30 minutes. The hard outer shell can tolerate a rougher cleaning method.

The plastic Orthosis should not be left in the very hot sun or by a warm radiator or heat vent as the plastic may soften and become distorted.

If other questions should arise about the care of your Orthosis, please contact your Orthotist for further clarification.
